THE MOTH STORY
Hi, I’m Vanessa. Thanks for visiting my page to find out more about my style of marketing.
I established the Moth Marketing concept based on some interesting conversations I had been having with people about how they ‘know they should be doing better marketing but don’t have the time or budget’ or they ‘know they should be creating content but they don’t know where to begin’. This burden should not be beared by business owners or directors, because I completely understand their priority is creating incredible products and services, and managing their customers and clients. I am here to help.
As a passionate marketer, it pains me to see unfulfilled potential with a brand. I want to help these companies, often run by successful and extremely innovative folk, to achieve their full potential in terms of captivating their desired audience and engaging with them to deliver long-term relationships that will help to meet their business goals.
Understanding the desire for businesses to kickstart their marketing and grow their brand, alongside my experience working in the B2B marketing sector and my knowledge of the digital marketing sphere, I identified a match made in marketing heaven.
Here’s a little about my background in marketing:
I have worked in the marketing world, both B2C and B2B since 2011 (following achieving a 1st Class Honours in Retail Marketing from the University of Brighton), working as the sole marketer for a retailer, creating all content in-house, as well as working in-store, engaging with customers face-to-face nearly everyday. This may not seem important, but it has instilled the ethos that the customers or clients opinions and feedback is invaluable, and sometimes the best research you can undertake is the simplest - conversation.
Following this venture, I moved into the B2B space, heading up the marketing team for creative technology agency, Engage Works. I lived and breathed this role for 5 years, developing my knowledge of the industry, our clients work and becoming an industry expert in interactive technology and consumer engagement, running their social channels, writing thought-leadership articles and working hand-in-hand with clients to develop their brand story, alongside ours as an agency.
In 2017 I moved over to ‘Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity’. For me, this was like working for The Oscars. I worked with the largest, most creative agencies in the world to enter their work for the awards. This project management role involved handling up to 80 different pieces of creative work, every day, and managing the respective agency relationships. On-site in Cannes for the festival, I worked within the Innovation team, coordinating the live judging and managing the entrants and jury.
Back to London with a bump following my summer in the South France, I joined creative content agency, Contented Brothers, as their in-house marketing manager developing the marketing strategy from scratch, creating a brand positioning, building their online voice and maintaining valuable client relationships. Here, I worked on creating content strategies for clients, as well as for the Contented Brother brand.
I then joined business growth agency, Chesamel, as Campaign Manager for the Google Digital Garage project and Group Marketing Manager for the organisation and its subsidiary businesses. Chesamel remains one of my key clients where we work collaboratively on captivating B2B marketing campaigns for a number of innovative tech clients.
